01Preamble
HAEL.world was created for the sake of people: their dignity, freedom of conscience, the ability to understand themselves, make responsible decisions, and interact with others without humiliation, coercion, or destruction.
We were not created for the sake of a political party, a state ideology, or the superiority of any one nation, religion, race, culture, or social group. We do not divide people into "us" and "them," and we do not use spiritual or educational work as a tool of political struggle.
People create social institutions, laws, and organizations to protect life, maintain order, resolve conflicts, preserve freedom, and pass on a common heritage to future generations. HAEL.world respects the legitimate role of these institutions while simultaneously recognizing that individuals should not disappear within the system.
Our core principle: HAEL.world recognizes the inherent dignity of every person and the equal value of every human life.
02Dignity Is Not a Reward
Human dignity is not determined by passport, position, wealth, origin, popularity, health, political views, religious affiliation or economic usefulness.
The state and society can establish duties, enforce the law, and hold individuals accountable for specific actions. However, responsibility for actions does not negate human dignity. This principle has a solid legal and moral foundation. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights speaks of the inherent dignity and equal, inalienable rights of all members of the human family. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states that rights derive from the inherent dignity of the human person. The American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man links the purpose of social and political institutions to the protection of fundamental rights and the creation of conditions for human spiritual and material development.[1] [2] [3]
The California Constitution affirms that all persons are by nature free and independent and possess certain inalienable rights. These include life, liberty, property, security, happiness, and privacy.[4]
For HAEL.world, dignity is not a fine-sounding word but a practical standard. It requires:
- speaking to a person in clear and respectful language;
- not using a person’s fear, loneliness, crisis or faith to pressure them;
- not turning a diagnosis, status, origin or mistake into a definition of the whole person;
- explaining the limits of our competence before a person makes a decision;
- giving a person the opportunity to decline, stop, ask a question or choose another resource;
- keeping only the data that is truly necessary for the stated purpose;
- referring to qualified help when educational or spiritual support is not enough.
We separate the person from the act. An act can be evaluated and can have consequences. A person’s dignity cannot be revoked.
03Freedom of Conscience
HAEL.world is a nonprofit spiritual and educational initiative. We recognize the spiritual dimension of human life and the human right to seek meaning, to turn to the Creator, to follow one's traditions, to question, to explore, and to change one's understanding.
Free faith is incompatible with coercion. Therefore, accepting HAEL.world's spiritual views is not a condition for respect, access to general educational materials, or receiving support available through the platform.
We respect Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and indigenous spiritual traditions, other beliefs and traditions, individual spiritual quests, and people of no religious affiliation. We do not seek to blend all beliefs into a single system. We affirm the ability to maintain one's own convictions while recognizing the right of others to their conscience.
We may offer prayer, contemplation, reading of a spiritual text, or participation in spiritual practice only as a free invitation. A person's refusal does not diminish their right to respectful treatment or the general educational content available to them.
04Responsibility, Law & Public Safety
HAEL.world supports legitimate public safety, due process, individual accountability, and the functioning of courts, emergency services, and government agencies within their legal powers.
We are committed to the rule of law and the equal application of laws. Accusation, controversy, or an individual's unpopularity should not replace fact-finding and due process. The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments protect life, liberty, and property from being taken without due process; the Fourteenth Amendment also provides for equal protection of the laws for every person within the jurisdiction of a state.[5][6]
We reject collective guilt and dehumanization. Responsibility is assigned to specific actions and individuals; it should not be automatically transferred to an entire people, religion, race, social group, political community, or generation.
Respect for dignity does not abolish boundaries. It demands that boundaries be clear, proportionate, lawful, and applied without humiliation.
06America as Our Legal Home
HAEL.world was founded in the United States of America with gratitude to the constitutional tradition of freedom of conscience, speech, peaceful association and public initiative.
American history, like the history of other societies, contains both achievements and difficult contradictions between proclaimed principles and their practical implementation. For HAEL.world, society's ability to recognize these gaps, learn, and expand the space for dignity, freedom, and equal protection is essential. We do not declare one country, culture, or political model to be spiritually superior to others. The United States is the organization's legal home; our mission is addressed to people worldwide.
In different countries, people relate HAEL.world materials to their own culture, traditions, and applicable local laws.
07America: Indigenous Peoples, Migration & Labor
America did not begin with immigration. Long before the United States emerged, numerous indigenous peoples lived on this continent, each with their own societies, languages, legal customs, spiritual traditions, and relationships to the land. European settlement and subsequent expansion of the United States led to the dramatic displacement and loss of land for many indigenous communities.[8]
After this, American society was shaped by diverse routes of arrival. Millions of people came voluntarily—in search of safety, freedom of conscience, work, education, and a new beginning. Others were brought in by force. The story of enslaved Africans and their descendants is not a simple immigration story: it was one of forced transportation, imprisonment, and generations of injustice.[9]
Therefore, the most accurate formulation is:
With the exception of Native American peoples, almost every American family history involves a migration to this continent—whether voluntary or forced—or the subsequent generations of people who once arrived. These stories vary, but each deserves to be remembered and respected.
Immigrants helped transform cities, agriculture, industry, science, culture, entrepreneurship, and everyday life. Their experiences included not only opportunity but also exploitation, discrimination, and the struggle for belonging. The Library of Congress notes that mass immigration created social tensions but also brought new vitality and demonstrated that diversity, along with unity, could be a source of national strength.[10]
Contemporary America continues to be a nation of migration. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that in 2022, 46.2 million foreign-born people lived in the United States—13.9 percent of the population. This statistical category includes naturalized citizens, permanent residents, temporary and humanitarian migrants, and people without legal status; it does not include U.S.-born children or subsequent generations of immigrants.[11][12]
This history gives us not the right to divide people by their time of arrival, but rather the obligation to treat each other with remembrance and humility. Almost every family has a story of a journey, loss, adaptation, labor, or a new beginning. Differences in experience do not negate a shared responsibility for the country and for the people around us.
08Migration & Legal Status
HAEL.world respects the legitimate authority of states to determine immigration policy, secure borders, and ensure public safety. However, a person's legal or immigration status is not a measure of their human dignity.
We don't romanticize migration. It can mean separation, trauma, exploitation, linguistic isolation, job loss, and uncertainty. It can also mean freedom, security, education, work, entrepreneurship, family reunification, and public service.
We treat everyone with respect, regardless of whether they are a recent arrival, a naturalized citizen, born to an immigrant family, or a member of an indigenous people. We do not require disclosure of immigration status to access open educational materials unless such information is necessary for a specific legitimate service and the purpose for which it is needed is clearly explained.
HAEL.world does not provide individual legal or immigration advice unless such help is provided separately by a qualified professional. We do not promise anyone status, protection from law enforcement or a particular outcome in their case.
We can provide general nonpartisan information, help people navigate available public resources, support a person’s capacity for self-regulation, and refer them to licensed attorneys, organizations recognized by the Department of Justice, and accredited representatives.[13]
Assistance to immigrants should not be used for political propaganda, religious pressure, collection of excessive data, or selling a service that the person does not need.
09What HAEL.world Does
HAEL.world provides free educational and spiritual resources, including books, articles, and self-guided learning materials. Visitors can explore questions of meaning, personal reflection, and spiritual development at their own pace.
The optional AI Guide is an AI-powered educational assistant for navigating HAEL's materials, exploring ideas, and reflecting on questions. It is not a human counselor, therapist, medical professional, or emergency service. Its responses may be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional advice. Please avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive personal information. The Guide does not diagnose, treat, or guarantee results, and you can use all of HAEL's free educational resources without it.
HAEL does not provide medical treatment, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, or guaranteed personal outcomes. Access to free educational resources is separate from optional donations and paid event admission. In immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services in your location.
10Our Standard of Care
We measure the quality of work not by the volume of promises, but by whether people receive understandable material, retain the ability to make free choices, understand the next safe step, and can use open content without being forced to donate, take a political stance, or confess a faith.
Dignity before label
We do not reduce a person to a party, religion, nationality, race, accent, citizenship, profession, diagnosis or one mistake.
Conscience without coercion
We may speak openly about the spiritual foundations of our work, but we do not require acceptance of faith as a condition of respect, education, or general support.
Voluntariness and clear consent
A person must understand what exactly is being offered to them, where the general educational information ends, what data may be processed, and how to refuse without punishment or loss of dignity.
Minimum required data
We do not ask for crisis, medical, religious, immigration, or family information simply out of curiosity. If information is not needed for the stated purpose, it should not be collected.
Help does not depend on a donation
Access to the stated free material or referral to an emergency resource is not contingent on a donation, purchase, registration, public review, or consent to marketing.
Fact before accusation
We distinguish between a primary document, a verifiable fact, a professional opinion, an interpretation, and personal conviction.
Responsibility is individual
We name a specific action and its consequences and do not shift the blame to an entire group.
Disagreement does not negate human status
We reject bullying, threats, dehumanization, political and religious violence.
Professional boundaries matter more than the wish to help on our own
If a person requires a doctor, a licensed mental health professional, an attorney, an accredited immigration representative, a crisis line, or an emergency service, we do not replace them with spiritual explanation.
Service is more important than public image
We measure ourselves by the accuracy of our materials, the safety of our people, the transparency of our processes, and the real benefits we deliver.
Freedom received creates an obligation
We use freedom not to dominate others, but so that others can live, think, believe, ask questions and develop alongside us without humiliation.
Responsibility to the future
We strive to carefully manage nature, resources, public institutions, and the space of trust that we pass on to future generations.
11What HAEL.world Does Not Do
- does not represent the United States government, the State of California, any local government, or any international organization;
- does not use government symbols, grants, registration or tax status to create the impression of government endorsement of HAEL.world's spiritual views;
- does not endorse or oppose candidates on behalf of the organization;
- does not declare people to be enemies by origin, nationality, religion, race, language, citizenship, political opinion or lack of religious affiliation;
- does not promise medical, psychological, legal, immigration, financial or political results;
- does not require accepting HAEL.world's spiritual views as a condition of access to general educational content;
- does not exploit human fear, crisis, loneliness or vulnerability for covert political, religious or commercial pressure;
- does not replace professional help with spiritual explanations and does not prevent a person from turning to another qualified resource;
- does not transform service to the public good into a hidden private gain for the founder, employee, donor, or partner.[14]
12Independence, Transparency & Accountability
HAEL.world recognizes the legitimate role of government and regulatory bodies. Good faith verification can help separate mission from personal gain, education from unprovable promises, service from manipulation, and religious freedom from abuse of trust.
To the extent required by law, the organization is prepared to explain its structure, programs, sources of funds, privacy policies, editorial processes, relations with commercial projects, and the boundaries of spiritual and educational activity.
If HAEL.world collaborates with a commercial organization, founder, author, contractor, or partner, the terms must be written, reasonable, and verifiable. Charitable resources must not be used primarily for private gain.[14]
We do not seek exemption from liability based on our spiritual mission or status. We strive to exercise our legal freedom and accept the corresponding responsibility to act in good faith.
13Public Declaration
HAEL.world is dedicated to education, human empowerment and service to the common good.
We are an independent, international, nonprofit spiritual and educational initiative based in the United States and open to people around the world.
We recognize the inherent dignity of every person and the equal value of every human life. Dignity does not depend on passport, origin, wealth, health, religion, political views, immigration status, or economic usefulness.
We respect freedom of conscience, religion, and belief. We support legitimate public safety, fair procedure, individual responsibility, and peaceful interaction.
We are independent of political parties and candidates. Our spiritual and educational mission does not change with the political cycle.
The United States is our legal home. We remember that America existed as a land of indigenous peoples before the emergence of the modern state. We also recognize the many ways in which people and their ancestors came here: through voluntary migration, fleeing persecution, seeking work and freedom, as well as forced displacement and slavery. These stories are varied, but each demands truth, remembrance, and respect.
We create open knowledge, self-observation practices, and educational pathways that help people regain clarity, strengthen their inner resilience, make more informed decisions, and find qualified help when needed.
We are open to believers of various traditions, individuals on individual spiritual quests, and those without religious affiliation. Respect and access to shared educational content do not require agreement with our spiritual views.
Freedom becomes a common value when we preserve it not only for ourselves, but also for another person.
14Independent Status
HAEL.world is an independent, non-governmental organization. Reference to the Constitution, government documents, tax status, grants, or government programs does not constitute endorsement of HAEL.world by the United States government, the State of California, or local authorities.
This manifesto expresses the spiritual, educational, and organizational principles of HAEL.world. It does not constitute legal advice, immigration guidance, medical or psychological advice, and does not promise individual results.

05During Social and Political Change
Social and political systems change. Administrations, laws, public priorities, and notions of justice can change along with them.
HAEL.world does not align its spiritual and educational mission with any political party, candidate, or administration. We do not endorse or oppose candidates on behalf of the organization, and we do not use spiritual authority, donations, user data, or educational programs for covert election campaigning.[7]
Our principles remain unchanged regardless of the political cycle: human dignity, freedom of conscience, the rule of law, individual responsibility, fair procedure, peaceful resolution of conflicts, reliability of information and respect for the rights of others.
