Volunteering with HAEL is not casual. Even small roles touch people who are arriving in difficult moments. We move slowly, we select carefully, and we expect quiet, grounded conduct.

Content review and editing
Help refine library articles and guidance for clarity, calm, and accuracy.
Translation and language review
Strengthen multilingual quality in one of the supported languages.
Outreach and partnerships
Help connect HAEL with aligned organizations and communities.
Operational and technical support
Assist with the platform, infrastructure, design, or accessibility work.
Research and field listening
Help us understand who arrives at HAEL and what they actually need.
What we ask
- ·Adults 18+ with a calm, respectful approach to people in difficult moments
- ·Reliability and clarity over speed or volume
- ·Willingness to follow HAEL's safeguarding and conduct expectations
- ·No clinical, therapeutic, or emergency advice given as a HAEL volunteer
- ·Comfort with limited public exposure — the work is mission-first, not personal-brand
How selection works
We review every application personally. If your context matches a current need, we follow up with a short conversation, a small trial task, and a clear scope before any ongoing commitment.
Conduct expectations

- ·Stay strictly within your role — do not give clinical or emergency guidance
- ·Protect privacy: never share information about users or internal operations
- ·Hold the calm, non-commercial tone of HAEL in every interaction
